What We’ve Heard
The redevelopment of Union Station Neighborhood is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape Ogden’s future. A project with stakes this high takes a long time to ensure we get it right. The project team has been out in the community since June 2023 to hear from you and your neighbors about your vision for the future Union Station Neighborhood.
Here’s what we’ve heard…

Union Station—the building and what it represents—is integral to Ogden’s identity.

The museums and historic artifacts are important cultural assets that deserve to be uplifted.
Wall Avenue
Safe crossing across Wall Avenue is fundamental to the success of the future neighborhood.

Desired uses include dining and restaurants, shopping and retail, special events, family-friendly, and parks and green spaces.
What we did
Community Conversation #1
June 15, 2023 - This event kicked off the public participation process for Union Station Neighborhood. We heard from local experts about the history of Union Station and asked you what is important.
Community Conversation #2
September 20, 2023 - We shared feedback from Community Conversation #1 and Survey #1 and asked for your help to design a perfect day in the future neighborhood through a preference survey.
Community Conversation #3
November 15, 2023 - We presentated feedback from the community which was followed by an open house with the introduction of two concept plans for the neighborhood.
Survey #1
This survey is now closed.
We asked about Union Station-how often you visit, what brings you there, and how you envision it in the future. You said historic preservation and cultural heritage are important and you want to see more arts and culture, food and dining options, and the station become a vibrant community gathering space.
Advisory Group
The advisory committee includes representatives from various community groups and organizations and emphasizes the need for collaboration and advocacy. The group acknowledges the importance of the development project and the historic significance of Union Station.
Survey #2
This survey is now closed.
We asked about the Museums at Union Station. The survey received five responses, which is not enough to draw conclusions from.
Farmers Market
We set up at Ogden Farmers Market three times between July and September to speak with market-goers about their desires for the future neighborhood. Common themes mirrored those heard at other events.
Survey #3
This survey is now closed.
Survey #3 included the same questions posed at Community Conversation #2 about designing your perfect day in the future neighborhood. Common themes centered around food and dining, shopping and retail, the museums, and special events.
